Aspen Valley Horse Rescue -

Horses for Adoption

All of AVHR’s available horses are being handled daily, are up to date and current on all vaccinations, worming, etc. Many of our horses came to us with little or no prior handling by humans (if any of these horses had ever had their feet trimmed, it was done on a tilt-table where the horse was run into a shoot, legs strapped in and then the table tilted for access for to their feet). As time and patience has allowed us at AVHR, our rescue horses have been handled daily, they are getting used to picking up all four feet (nearly all have had their feet trimmed now by a professional farrier), receive grain daily, and are getting used to pampering and the love of being groomed. Most of our rescue horses had never had grain in their lives (they didn’t even know what it was in the beginning and we had to encourage them to eat it!) and had never been wormed. It’s been a long road since they arrived, but we’re confident that they each truly deserve a second chance in a loving home and will bring years of joy to their adoptive owners! Please consider adopting one of these deserving horses who otherwise would have faced the slaughterhouses had we not been able to rescue them…. They each have their unique and dynamic personalities and it’s been such a pleasure watching their personalities blossom and finding genuine interest and curiosity in people.
